The Importance of Gifts VIII

A few weeks ago, we went over the list of spiritual gifts found in 1 Corinthians 12. We spent our time discussing the definitions of these gifts in order to identify when they are being properly used as well as some common misconceptions with these gifts. However, did you know that 1 Corinthians 12 is not the only list of spiritual gifts that are found in the Bible? There is another list that can be found in Romans 12, and it is this list that we will be spending our time on in the next couple of weeks.

As discussed multiple times with our previous posts regarding the spiritual gifts, these gifts are given to us from the Holy Spirit and are used to bring glory to God, “4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.” 1 Corinthians 12. It is important for us to identify these spiritual gifts so that we know not only if they are being used Biblically, but also so we can identify the gifts that have been given to us and put them to use to glorify God.
